UNITED PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
"Welcome to our site! I am so glad that you are here. Take a look around to learn more about who we are as a church, our mission and vision for Christ, as well as information about how you can get involved in any of our events and ministries. Please scroll down each page to get the latest news at United Presbyterian Church. We invite you to come visit our church! If you have any questions at all, I would love to connect with you."
Pastor Bob Boyar
...
The United Presbyterian Church of Jamestown is geographically very close to the confluence of two rivers - to be precise, the Pipestem Creek and the James River. The two different bodies of water become one river. Similarly, different people with different gifts and backgrounds come together to worship and minster in the name of One - Jesus Christ. Our mission is Sharing Christ’s Love Through Service.
We service the Presbytery of the Northern Plains by being a centrally located meeting place for committees and councils. Out youth leader, Jerome, works with the Presbytery's Youth Connection for combined retreats. Pastor Bob serves on the Congregational Vitality Pod.
The University of Jamestown is located close by the church. The United Presbyterian Church has a long history of supporting the University. A number of current professors and students of UJ are members of our church. We also have members of our choir, ably directed by David Morlock, associated with UJ.
Our current staff includes Pastor Bob Boyar, Jerome Zamgba - Christian Education Coordinator/Youth Leader, David Morlock - Organist/ Choir Director, Robin Barnes - Administrative Assistant and Mae Pickett - Church Bookkeeper.
We would love for you to take a second look into who we are. We feel that the better you get to know us the more comfortable you will feel while you visit. Give us a look, and feel free to let us know if you have any questions.
Thanks so much for visiting us today!

We support several missions including local and international programs. We could have not done it without your help and support!
The Deacons seek to personify our church's mission, "Sharing Christ's Love Through Service." These officers commit to carrying out several responsibilities within the church and throughout the community.
Cindy Wermager, member since 2001
“It has truly been an honor and pleasure to be a part of a church family. I feel our congregation leads by example, in turn, inspiring me to be a better person/Christian."

Presbytery Zoom Meeting
Go to the website here to get the link on the day of the meeting..
https://www.northernplainspresbytery.com/presbytery-meeting
7 pm
The purpose for these Presbytery wide meetings will be to discuss the two upcoming proposals that we are asking you to vote on at the Spring Presbytery meeting at the University of Jamestown on Saturday, March 21, 2026. These Zoom meetings will be an opportunity to hear the proposals and financial information, ask questions, give feedback, and engage in group discussions ahead of the Presbytery meeting.
First Proposal: The Presbytery of the Northern Plains seeks a relational and pastoral leader to serve as Executive Presbyter. This role is centered on connection, care, and encouragement, helping to strengthen the life of our churches and pastors while fostering unity across the presbytery.
Second Proposal: Congregational Vitality Grant Program. The Congregational Vitality Grant Program provides financial support to churches within our Presbytery for projects that strengthen and enhance ministry. By investing in congregations that are actively engaged in mission and growth, the Presbytery seeks to nurture vibrant communities of faith and extend the witness of the church.
Our Church Growth Consultant, John Fong, wants to have a Zoom Meeting with church members. Since this program is driven by data, results, and case studies, based on new data from all my churches, John developed a New Year Jump Start Plan built around four proven core steps - Invitation Tree, Blessing Circle, Small Social Meetups and Impact Touchpoints. We'll discuss how we can integrate some of this with what you are already doing. When are you available to Zoom? Contact Pastor Bob to get a date and time that suits the most people.
