Our goal and mission at the United Presbyterian
Church of Jamestown is “to know God and to make God known.” We strive to
accomplish this mission through a variety of way as we reach out to children,
youth, college students, and adults.
Middle School
Sunday School:
A
Sunday School class for Middle School students (6-8 graders) is offered every Sunday morning from 9:00-10:15 AM in the Youth
Room. Jim Morris and Dan Lukach teach this class.
Sr. High Sunday School:
Senior High
Sunday School is held every Sunday morning from 9:00-10:15 AM in the Youth
Director's Office. Pastor Dave teaches this class and will be using the
book What's in Your Locker? to relate school life to our
Christian faith.
Sr.
High Youth Group
Senior High
Youth are invited to JAMM (Jesus Always Matters Most) every Wednesday
evening from 6:30-7:45 PM at the YMCA. Youth will enjoy games, a
Christian devotional, special outings, ways to meet new youth, and
opportunities to serve others. JAMM will resume on Wednesday,
September 12.
We also
encourage our youth to attend a weekly youth Bible study that is led by Luke
and Katie Fiskness. This group meets on Monday and Wednesday evenings
at 8:00 PM at the Fiskness' home.
In addition to
weekly gatherings, this group engages in service projects, provides an annual Thanksgiving dinner for the
elderly, organizes the annual Youth Sunday service each April, and meets for
special outings and retreats.
Confirmation:
Confirmation is offered for students in
the ninth grade and above. Led by Pastor Dave this class includes learning about the Bible, church history, missions,
the Christian and Presbyterian traditions, stewardship, and other issues
relating to personal faith development. Confirmation in our church is a
one year program that begins in September and is completed in May.
