Christian Education Director:

Doreen Larson

I was born and raised in the Hebron, North Dakota, area.  I attended school in a one room country school-house for the first 7 grades and continued my education and graduated from High School in Hebron. I attended Interstate Business College in Fargo and that is where I met my husband, Richard.  We have been married for 41 years and live in the city of Jamestown.  My husband is a retired banker. We have 3 grown children and 4 grandchildren. I enjoy reading, music and plays, playing the piano, golfing (sometimes!), cooking, Bible studies, and doing things with friends and family.

I started working as Director of Christian Education in April, 2002.  I have been a member of this church since 1976 and prior to that a member of the Presbyterian Church in Virginia, Minnesota.  I am an ordained Elder and Deacon and have served on various committees both in our church and at the Presbytery level.  I love serving the Lord and I particularly enjoy working in Children’s Ministry!

Our church secretaries:

Sharon Watson

Sharon joined our church staff in December, 1995.  Prior to returning to North Dakota, Sharon has lived in Seattle, Washington, and the Everglades, Florida.  She has a son who resides in Texas.  In addition to her work with our church, Sharon is the manager of the Single Residence Occupancy (SRO) home in Jamestown.  Sharon has also provided home health care.

Sharon brings a lot of joy to her work.  She has a great love for Jesus Christ which is very evident in the way she relates to others.

Diane Witzig

I was born and raised in Jamestown, ND. I attended school in Jamestown and college at Minot, ND.  I worked for 25 years as an Executive Secretary at what is now called Goodrich.  I have been married for 41 years to Duane.  We live just outside city limits and raise cattle, horses, goats and donkeys!  We have 3 grown children and 6 grandchildren.  I teach a water aerobics class at the YMCA five days a week, and serve on the Board of Directors at the local Humane Society.  I started volunteering at an elementary school helping second and fourth graders with their reading and math.  I love people, music, movies, Bible studies, swimming, being kept busy and having fun!

I started working as part-time church secretary in October, 2005.  I have been a member of this church since April, 1954.  I am an ordained Elder and Deacon and have served on various committees both in our church and at Presbytery level.  I currently serve as a member on the Presbytery Preparation on Ministry committee, Newsletter Editor of our state Presbyterian Women (PW) organization, Clerk of Session, member of the Mission Team, Good News Hand-bell Director, Chancel Choir member, Secretary/ Treasurer of PW, member of Faith Circle, member of the Worship Committee, Stephen Minister and Leader, Chairman of the Annual Dinner, was on the Elevator Committee and I like to help out with various other activities going on in the church.  I particularly enjoy working with the Presbyterian Women’s group and also the children’s hand-bell choir and helping with various children’s group activities.

I love being able to serve the Lord.  The staff here is wonderful!  My church has always been very important to me and I am so thankful to be here in this capacity!
